Andrew Foti
Chair
Andrew Foti brings 30 years’ experience as a lawyer, executive and director to the Nepean Sports Wall of Fame. He has served as national practice leader for two of Canada’s largest national firms, and as chief legal officer and corporate secretary to public companies in Canada and the U.S. Andrew is the co-founder and principal of Avokka, where he acts as part-time general counsel to high-growth companies. He also has been a director and advisor to numerous Canadian non-profit organizations.
Andrew has a lifelong involvement in sport, as a competitive athlete growing up in Nepean and at McGill University from which he has degrees in business and law. He also is a highly certified ski instructor and downhill ski racing and soccer coach. Andrew is an avid skier, cyclist, and backcountry hiker.
Alison Korn
Secretary
A two-time Olympic medallist and former world champion in rowing, Alison Korn grew up in Nepean and has a B.A from McGill University and Master of Journalism from Carleton University. Throughout her career in media relations and communications, she served as a member of mission staff for Team Canada at five multi-sport Games (Paralympic, Commonwealth, Parapan Am), between 2011 and 2016. Previously, Alison was the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications and Media Relations with the Canadian Paralympic Committee. She currently works at the Senate of Canada as Issues Management and Media Relations Advisor. Alison was inducted into the Nepean Sports Wall of Fame in 1996.
Jeff Wilson
Treasurer
Jeff Wilson has been a fixture as a coach and sports administrator for community and school organizations for the past four decades.
Born and bred in Nepean, Jeff has degrees from Carleton University (B.A. Hons) and the University of Ottawa (B.Ed.) and spent 30 years as an educator with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Jeff has played and coached for provincially ranked basketball teams, including the Ontario Summer Games finalists, coached a national championship flag football squad, and led city and regional squads to badminton and hockey titles.
Jeff has served as president of the Ottawa-Carleton Elementary Athletic Association and Kanata Youth Basketball Association, is a director of the Ottawa Next Level Centre for Basketball Excellence, and founder of the National Capital All-Star Classic, a showcase for youth basketball players from across Eastern Ontario.
Mark Gallant
Mark Gallant is a long-time hockey official and dedicated member of the hockey community. He has been involved with on-ice and off-ice officiating roles for Hockey Eastern Ontario (Junior and Minor) since 1977. Highlights included refereeing at the 2002 Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, a Hockey Canada referee assignment for a Canada’s national men’s team versus Czechoslovakia game in 1999, being the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association Referee-In-Chief (1997-2005), and an assignment instructing officials in Mexico City. With Hockey Canada (2003-2008), he was the assistant coach for Canada’s National Para Hockey Team and part of the gold-medal-winning team at the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. Mark was inducted to the Nepean Sports Wall of Fame in 2021. He works for Canada Revenue Agency as a senior analyst.
Greg Kealey
Greg Kealey grew up playing competitive hockey and lacrosse in Nepean and in 2001, he founded the Bytown Storm, one of Canada’s leading development programs for triathlon athletes.
The Bytown Storm has introduced the sport of triathlon to hundreds of young athletes, most of whom continue to lead an active healthy lifestyle and many who have gone on to compete on the international stage, including the Olympics, world championships, Pan-Am Games and Commonwealth Games.
While continuing to coach locally, Greg was hired as Triathlon Ontario provincial coach in 2013. In addition to leading athlete development across the province, he has also coached at the Pan-Am Games, Continental and world championship events.
Lianne Laing
Lianne Laing is Executive Director, Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation, and VP Philanthropy, Ottawa Heart Institute. She is responsible for the leadership, management and operations of the Foundation and leads its campaign for cardiovascular research and precision medicine as well as the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Centre. Lianne is a former elite gymnast and had a 20-year broadcast television career with Bell Media, including 10 years as a sports anchor and then 10 years as the host of CTV Morning Live. A passionate health and wellness advocate, she is known for her leadership, community outreach and engagement in Ottawa and beyond. Lianne has degrees in Business and Sport Management from University of Massachusetts/Amherst.
Sherry Pang
A public relations professional with over 30 years experience, Sherry Pang began her career as Marketing and Public Relations Director with the Ottawa 67’s Hockey Club. With a long history of leading successful fundraising golf tournaments, walks, and cocktail galas, she provides hope and support to those living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Sherry was raised in Nepean where she swam with the Bayshore Barracudas, played competitive hockey with the Raiders, and won a national lacrosse championship with the Nepean Knights. As a proud mother of two grown boys, Sherry loves to golf, paddle board, and cross-country ski.
Ken Warren
Ken Warren has brought his passion for sports and recreation through his writing, serving as a sportswriter with the Ottawa Citizen and Ottawa Sun for more than three decades. A graduate of Carleton University’s Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) Program, Ken spent 25 years on the NHL beat with the Ottawa Senators, while also maintaining a keen interest in professional and amateur athletes in the area. He learned to skate on the Jock River and played hockey, baseball, tennis, and high school sports in Nepean. Ken has also coached and served as a trainer for minor hockey and soccer teams in the city.
