Larry Skinner

A multi-sport athlete, Larry spent his winters on the ice in Nepean. A graduate of the Nepean Raiders, Larry owns the distinction of scoring the first official goal in the history of the Nepean Sportsplex and the first goal in the history of the Colorado Rockies National Hockey League franchise.

Larry spent four seasons with Colorado before finishing out his pro hockey career in Europe.

He was a standout on the diamonds, as well, winning silver with Canada’s national fastball team in 1984 and was named an all-star at the Canadian fastball championships in 1980, 1981, 1986 and 1990.
