Katie Xu

Katie Xu is among the select class of athletes who have established themselves on the national stage in both summer and winter sports.

Xu has made her mark in the pool nationally while representing the Nepean Sharks swim club for Canada.

She captured three medals at the 2018 National Special Olympics Summer Games and followed that up by winning gold, silver and two bronze at the 2022 Canada Summer Games – Special Olympics.

Additionally, Xu has been a force in mainstream Masters swim events, finishing first in her age group in the 800-metre freestyle at the Masters Provincials.

In winter sports, Xu won three medals in figure skating at the 2017 World Special Olympics Games and placed 4th in the Singles – Level 5 event (a combined men's and women's competition) in the 2025 World Special Olympics in Turin, Italy.
