Julie Brousseau's rapid rise up the ranks of Canadian swimming led her all the way to the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she helped Canada to a fourth-place finish in the 4 x 200 freestyle relay.
A year earlier, Brousseau made waves at both the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile and the 2023 World Junior Aquatic Championships in Israel. At the Pan American Games, Brousseau won gold in the 400 individual medley and 4 x 100 freestyle relay. In Israel, she captured seven medals, including one silver and six bronze.
Brousseau was a sensation for Ontario at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, tying the all-time record for medals won at the Games winning 11 medals (six gold, one silver, four bronze).
Brousseau is also a three-time winner of the Ottawa Sports Award's swimmer of the year.
She regularly volunteers at hometown swim events, engaging with young athletes through photos, autographs, and stories of her own beginnings in regional competitions.
