Doug played nine seasons in the National Hockey League with Los Angeles, Buffalo, Edmonton, Vancouver and Pittsburgh and spent three seasons in Austria before retiring in 1992.
Doug was a star with the Nepean Raiders and Ottawa 67’s. While with the 67’s, he registered 69 goals and 92 assists in 119 games and was drafted second overall by Los Angeles in 1981 NHL entry draft.
He won the OMJHL’s Bobby Smith Trophy as the scholastic player of the year in 1981.
