Wall of Fame Elects New Board of Directors for 2026

Nepean, ON – February 19, 2026, The Nepean Sports Wall of Fame is pleased to announce the election of eight new members to its Board of Directors following the annual general meeting of members, welcoming a diverse and accomplished group of leaders who bring deep experience in sport, community service, journalism, governance, and public service.

Joining the Board are:

  • Martin Cleary – Veteran sports journalist and historian with more than five decades covering amateur and elite sport in Ottawa
  • David Holder – Longtime soccer executive and community volunteer with decades of leadership in Eastern Ontario sport
  • Mark Moors – Former CFL offensive lineman, Grey Cup champion, longtime Ottawa Crown prosecutor, and 2025 inductee into the Nepean Sports Wall of Fame
  • Amelia Nielsen – Former national-level swimmer, coach, and community sport advocate with deep roots in Nepean’s sporting legacy
  • Rae Polite – Experienced nonprofit board professional and fundraiser with a strong commitment to community recognition and service
  • Debra Power – Former elite basketball player and accomplished information management leader
  • Scott Rattray – Public service executive, lifelong multi-sport participant, and dedicated youth sport volunteer
  • Vicki Thomas – International-level martial artist and cyclist, writer, and advocate for inclusive sport and women’s participation

Continuity and institutional knowledge will be maintained as Jeff Wilson, Sherry Pang et Lianne Laing also were elected to continue to serve on the Board.

Jeff Wilson has agreed to assume the role of Chair of the Board previously held by Andrew Foti, who is stepping down after his dedicated service since 2020. The Board extends its sincere thanks to Andrew for his vision and leadership of the Wall of Fame during his tenure as Chair.

The organization also offers its thanks to Alison Korn for her meaningful contributions and recognize Ken Warren and Mark Gallant for their service during their time on the Board.

Andrew Foti, outgoing Chair, said: “I am proud of the evolution of the Wall over the past five years, thanks entirely to the work of this dedicated group of volunteers. We have created a new visual identity, an e-commerce-enabled website, a fully digital wall and kiosk, and a new funding and community engagement model. The incoming directors represent the next wave in our governance, bringing to the Wall a wide range of backgrounds, including national and international sport, elite competition, coaching, nonprofit governance, journalism, law, auditing, communications, and community engagement.”

Established in 1985, the Wall, currently honours 91 inductees and celebrates excellence achieved by Nepean athletes, teams, coaches, builders, and media. The Wall is prominently displayed on a fully digital wall and an accompanying kiosk in the lobby of the Nepean Sportsplex.

The Nepean Sports Wall of Fame is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors with deep ties to the Nepean community. The organization is dedicated to honouring, preserving, and celebrating Nepean’s sporting excellence while upholding the principles of Excellence, Community, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through sporting pursuits.
